Positive School Culture Program

Northwest uses a proactive system for student behavior management and mediation that helps students feel safe, supported, and ready to learn. Positive behavior and academic progress are celebrated with meaningful incentives. Students earn “Phoenix Bucks” for the school store, and can access rewards like free books and special field trips. Teachers track progress through ClassDojo and Hero to encourage consistent, community-minded growth.


Dress Code

Northwest follows a Free Dress policy, giving students the flexibility to express themselves while maintaining a respectful learning environment.


Field Trips & Learning Excursions

Students at every grade level expand their learning through exciting, curriculum-connected trips:

  • Grades K–6: Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, Great Lakes Science Center, Hannah Theatre 
  • Grade 7: Niagara Falls, Ontario (includes cruise, breakfast, and lunch) 
  • Grade 8: New York City trip (Statue of Liberty, 9/11 Memorial, Broadway play, Times Square, Grand Central Station – all meals and hotel included)
